Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Center on Seventh Street had a break-in and theft of "non-data-storing computer equipment," said Wendy Bost, a representative for the lab company, based in New Jersey.
The Oxnard location is not a laboratory, Bost said. The center, which collects blood and urine samples from patients, was closed at the time, and no employees were present, she said.
"We are confident that patient health information and other Quest Diagnostics' data was not affected by this incident and continues to be secure," Bost said in an e-mail. She would not provide any further information about the computers.
The Oxnard Police Department is investigating the incident, Bost said.
