Dec 8, 2008 -- Artificial Life, Inc. (OTCBB: ALIF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) (www.artificial-life.com), a leading full service provider of award winning mobile technology, games and applications, announced today the successful implementation of the company's SMS Galaxy(tm) technology in the Allianz Arena, one of the biggest stadiums in Europe. It is the company's first time implementing the technology for a large scale outdoor live event. Likewise, FC Bayern Munich is the first European soccer team to use the technology prior to a live match.

A photo accompanying this release is available at http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroom/prs/?pkgid=5658

Artificial Life Inc.'s innovative cross platform mobile technology allows the audience to virtually appear as animated characters on two 92-square meter LED displays inside the arena and dozens of smaller LCD displays which are spread throughout the arena. Audiences participate in the form of high quality animated models of one of FC Bayern Munich star players represented as avatars, including Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, Philipp Lahm and others.

A 3-7 minute live quiz section is held with a live host raising questions related to soccer, news and history of FC Bayern Munich. Participants submit answers via their mobile phones using text messaging. These answers trigger changes in the movements and actions of the animated characters on screen in real time. Those with correct answers proceed to the next question and those who give wrong answers are eliminated in visual and humorous ways.

The technology facilitates interaction of up to approximately 69,000 fans simultaneously, requiring only a mobile device. No additional controllers or equipment are necessary for participants.

The tentative launch schedule of the technology is early December, to be debuted on December 5th, and followed by every upcoming home match of the national league (Bundesliga).

"We are happy to implement this innovative technology in the Allianz Arena. The live mobile participation interactions will add fun and a sense of involvement to the supporting programme of the matches. Thanks to Artificial Life for bringing in this new entertaining element to our home games," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Board Chairman of FC Bayern Munich AG.

"This is a great opportunity for us. Our technology enables flexible adoption to different program formats and locations. The advanced set-up of the Allianz Arena provides us with the right atmosphere and we are grateful for the generous support of the arena. We would also like to express our greatest thanks to FC Bayern Munich for using our technology to enhance the entertainment of the audience during their home games," said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.

(SMS Galaxy(tm) is now rebranded as "MoPA-TV(tm)")

Dec 08, 2008 -- California Oil & Gas Corporation (OTCBB: COGC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) ("COGC") announces that the Sunday # 1 well has been successfully drilled, logged, and cased to a total depth of 3065 feet (2909'TVD). The Nabors Drilling rig # 472 has been moved to drill the second of four exploration wells to be drilled in the San Joaquin Basin Area of Mutual Interest. Drilling of this second exploration well, Olancha # 1 commenced drilling December 3, 2008.

Based on logging results, the Sunday # 1 well encountered an estimated 24 ft of potential pay with 36% log indicated porosity and no apparent oil/water contact in the uppermost sand of the Vedder formation. A program is currently being prepared to complete, test and place the Sunday # 1 well on production.

The Sunday #1 well was the first of a planned four well exploration drilling program being conducted by COGC and its partners (Partners). The four well locations were selected for Vedder formation targets based on interpretation of a 35.2 mi.(2) 3-D seismic program acquired over an Area of Mutual Interest (AMI) in late 2007. COGC has entered into a farm-in agreement to earn a 12.5 % interest in each well as drilled and after participation in 9 wells will have earned a 12.5% interest in the entire AMI.

The Sunday location was drilled directionally to test multiple fault controlled Vedder formation targets identified by seismic in a relatively unexplored area. Based on log and core analysis, the Sunday well encountered a highly porous and permeable sandstone reservoir which could contain 15 0 API to 25 0 API crude oil.

John McLeod, President of California Oil and Gas Corp. stated " The success of the Sunday #1 well bodes well for further exploration in the area. The San Joaquin Basin has been a very prolific oil producer, but until now, the area of the AMI had not been explored with modern seismic techniques. The high quality seismic program acquired in late 2007 identified over a dozen potential exploration prospects."

Dec 08, 2008 -- DOR BioPharma, Inc. (OTCBB: DORB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) ("DOR" or the "Company"), a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing products to treat the life-threatening side effects of cancer treatments and serious gastrointestinal diseases, and vaccines against certain bioterrorism agents, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed its review and cleared the Investigational New Drug (IND) application for DOR201, a time-release formulation of oral beclomethasone dipropionate (oral BDP), for the prevention of acute radiation enteritis. DOR is, therefore, cleared to initiate a Phase 1/2 clinical trial in acute radiation enteritis.

The IND application included the Phase 1/2 protocol BDP-ENT-01, which is designed as a multicenter, open-label, sequential, dose-escalation study in approximately 36 patients. Patients with rectal cancer who are scheduled to undergo concurrent radiation and chemotherapy prior to surgery will be enrolled in four dose groups. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the safety and maximal tolerated dose of escalating doses of DOR201, as well as the preliminary efficacy of DOR201 for prevention of signs and symptoms of acute radiation enteritis. The study is planned to be initiated in the first half of 2009.

Acute radiation enteritis is caused by radiation-induced death of the normal cells in the lining of the bowel. As bowel cells die and are not replaced, gastrointestinal toxicity develops over the next few days and weeks with chronic diarrhea, vomiting and pain being the major symptoms. The addition of chemotherapy often exacerbates the onset, severity, and debilitation related to intestinal symptoms. Radiation enteritis often results in delay or interruption of the cancer treatment.

There are over 100,000 patients in the United States annually who receive abdominal or pelvic external beam radiation treatment for cancer and these patients are at risk of developing acute and chronic radiation enteritis.

"Radiation enteritis is a serious complication for colorectal cancer patients receiving radiation therapy that impacts their quality of life and can require treatment modification," stated William Small, Jr., MD, FACRO, Professor and Vice Chairman, Department of Radiation Oncology, Associate Medical Director, Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and a Principal Investigator for the Phase 1/2 clinical study. "Based on oral BDP's proven pharmacology in treating severe GI inflammation, DOR201 represents a potential prophylactic option that would enable physicians/patients to maintain planned treatment regimens to battle the underlying malignancy. I look forward to working with DOR on the continued development of DOR201."

"This is a significant step in continuing DOR's commitment to expand our oral BDP development program," said Christopher J. Schaber, PhD, President and CEO of DOR. "Based on its known pharmacology, we believe that oral administration of BDP may help to prevent or reduce the severity of acute radiation enteritis and the deleterious effects it has on the patient's and treating physician's ability to deal with the underlying malignancy. We look forward to continued, productive interactions with the FDA and our experts in the field to initiate our clinical program in the coming months."

About Acute Radiation Enteritis

External radiation therapy is used to treat most types of cancer, including cancer of the bladder, uterine, cervix, rectum, prostate, and vagina. During delivery of treatment, some level of radiation will also be delivered to healthy tissue, including the bowel, leading to acute and chronic toxicities. The large and small bowels are very sensitive to radiation. The larger the dose of radiation the greater the damage to normal bowel tissue. Radiation enteritis is a condition in which the lining of the bowel becomes swollen and inflamed during or after radiation therapy to the abdomen, pelvis, or rectum. Most tumors in the abdomen and pelvis need large doses, and almost all patients receiving radiation to the abdomen, pelvis, or rectum will show signs of acute enteritis.

Patients with acute enteritis may have nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and bleeding, among other symptoms. Some patients may develop dehydration and require hospitalization. With diarrhea, the gastrointestinal tract does not function normally, and nutrients such as fat, lactose, bile salts, and vitamin B12 are not well absorbed.

Symptoms will usually resolve within 2-6 weeks after therapy has ceased. Radiation enteritis is often not a self-limited illness, as over 80% of patients who receive abdominal radiation therapy complain of a persistent change in bowel habits. Moreover, acute radiation injury increases the risk of development of chronic radiation enteropathy, and overall 5% to 15% of the patients who receive abdominal or pelvic irradiation will develop chronic radiation enteritis.

About DOR201

DOR201 contains BDP, a highly potent, topically active corticosteroid that has a local effect on inflamed tissue. BDP has been marketed in the United States and worldwide since the early 1970s as the active pharmaceutical ingredient in inhalation products for the treatment of patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma. BDP is also the active ingredient in orBec(R), currently in Phase 3 and Phase 2 development by DOR for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal Graft-versus-Host disease (GI GVHD), respectively. DOR201 is a time-release formulation of BDP specifically designed for oral use.

About DOR BioPharma, Inc.

DOR BioPharma, Inc. (DOR) is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing products to treat life-threatening side effects of cancer treatments and serious gastrointestinal diseases, and vaccines for certain bioterrorism agents. DOR's lead product, orBec(R) (oral beclomethasone dipropionate or BDP), is a potent, locally acting corticosteroid being developed for the treatment of gastrointestinal Graft-versus-Host disease (GI GVHD), a common and potentially life-threatening complication of hematopoietic cell transplantation. DOR expects to begin a confirmatory Phase 3 clinical trial of orBec(R) for the treatment of GI GVHD in 1H 2009. orBec(R) is also currently the subject of an NIH-supported, Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in the prevention of acute GVHD. Oral BDP may also have application in treating other gastrointestinal disorders characterized by severe inflammation. Additionally, DOR has a Lipid Polymer Micelle (LPM(TM)) drug delivery technology for the oral delivery of leuprolide for the treatment of prostate cancer and endometriosis.

Through its Biodefense Division, DOR is developing biomedical countermeasures pursuant to the Project BioShield Act of 2004. DOR's biodefense products in development are recombinant subunit vaccines designed to protect against the lethal effects of exposure to ricin toxin, botulinum toxin and anthrax. DOR's ricin toxin vaccine, RiVax(TM), has been shown to be well tolerated and immunogenic in a Phase 1 clinical trial in normal volunteers.

Dec 08, 2008 -- US Farms, Inc. (OTCBB: USFM), a diversified commercial farming and nursery company today announced that it has signed a non-exclusive Letter of Intent to acquire Phytoceutical, Inc. of San Diego, California. This acquisition, once completed, will allow US Farms, Inc. to enter into the growing, manufacturing, marketing and sales of Epilobium based consumer products. US Farms, Inc. will begin production on the Epilobium herb at its Southern California greenhouse facilities effective immediately. This transaction is subject to continued due diligence and has a 90 day closing period.

Epilobium is not a new herb. It has been celebrated for its health successes throughout Europe for decades, and has just recently been "rediscovered" as a potent treatment for a variety of male and female maladies. Attention was originally focused on Epilobium for its beneficial effects regarding prostate health for men, and urinary tract health for women. The use of Epilobium (Family Onagraceae) was widespread in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in certain areas of North America for centuries to treat these maladies. This pleasant herb, used as a tea, was first highly recommended by Austrian herbalist, Maria Treben, for ailing men who were suffering with prostate abnormalities. Epilobium has been and continues to be the subject of numerous studies throughout Europe. Upon further study, it was learned that Epilobium is far more potent than Saw Palmetto and has similar, yet more powerful effects for blocking dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the common cause of enlarged prostate and hair loss.

In traditional herbal medicine, Epilobium had proven to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. It has been used successfully for bladder health maintenance, male health maintenance, hormonal imbalances, and urinary system health.

In 2003, The Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology published results of an Epilobium-relevant study led by Annabella Vitalone, PhD. The study specifically addresses the use of Epilobium in treating benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). A non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, BPH is generally considered to be a normal part of the male aging process with cell proliferation traced to age-related changes in hormone balance and cell-growth factors.

In this transaction, US Farms, Inc. will be acquiring 100% of the stock issued and outstanding of Phytoceutical, Inc.

Bob Jacquet, CEO of Phytoceutical, Inc. commented, "We are very pleased to be working with US Farms, Inc. and its management team. The infrastructure that US Farms, Inc. brings to the table with its greenhouses and farming facilities in place, only enhances the big picture in terms of our larger scale growing capacity of the Epilobium herb and also to aggressively move the sales and marketing side of our Epilobium based products to the next level."

Yan K. Skwara, CEO of US Farms, Inc. stated, "When consummated, this transaction will enable US Farms, Inc. to leverage its current farming and nursery operations into a vertically integrated player in the $4 billion US market for BPH products. Growing multiple plants, crops and herbs and turning those products into a final end product for consumers is our cookie cutter process that we will continue to build on as we enter the 2009 campaign. In the past few years, we have shown what can be done with Aloe Vera crop and now with the Epilobium herb, we can certainly enhance our fundamental business while continuing to vertically integrate to increase our future sales and earnings."
