The deliveries are based on a development and sales agreement signed in 2003 with one of China's largest dairies.
The LifeTop Straw delivered to China contains Lactobacillus acidophillus and will be applied to drinks packages.
"China is a large and important market and the volumes we will deliver during the coming year are very interesting. If the launch is successful, it may be a question of very large volumes," said Peter Rothschild, president BioGaia.
BioGaia, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, develops and sells products based on the probiotic bacillus Lactobacillus reuteri. The company has 39 employees and reported net sales of SEK106.6m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.99 Swedish kronor (SEK).
