Provided that the rumored acquisition makes a success, Huawei is expected to get an access to North America, a market it cast its eye on long ago, pointed out market observers. The Shenzhen telecommunications equipment maker's attempt to step into the North American market was crunched after it failed to take over 3Com Corp. with private equity firm Bain Capital.
Huawei, as one of the global leading optical networking equipment providers, is believed to profit from the rumored deal with Nortel, which boasts advanced 40G/100G optical networking technologies.
