Peterson, a Shanghai-based managing director of Morgan Stanley Real Estate, who headed its China operations, resigned from the bank last week and his departure has been announced internally to property investment-related staff at the bank in Asia, said the sources.
Morgan Stanley Real Estate set up its Shanghai office responsible for China deals in 2006 and Peterson, who speaks fluent Mandarin, earned his reputation in China's property sector by leading several landmark deals of top-end residential projects for the real estate fund of the U.S. bank.
