Under the agreement, signed in January 2008, Q-Med was to market, sell and distribute Palomar Medical Technologies' aesthetic treatment products outside North America, but due to the economic downturn Q-Med has decided to concentrate on its own line of dermal fillers.
Q-Med, headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, is a biotechnology/medical device company focusing on medical implants. The company has some 700 employees.
