The company said that the process, which began in November 2008, is going forward, and that it is currently considering " various alternatives".
"As such, there has also been an interest from industrial companies wishing to explore various strategic alternatives," Roxar said.
The company said that it hopes to conclude its evaluation before the end of the first quarter.
Roxar, headquartered in Stavanger, Norway, is an international technology solutions provider to the upstream oil and gas industry. The company has 800 employees and reported revenue of NOK605.6m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 9.99 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
