The demonstrations show Validity's Fingerprint sensors being used under extreme situations and still work with high accuracy.
"The absence of adequate durability has been a long-standing issue with fingerprint sensors. Consumer devices are prone to being accidentally dropped, splashed with water, and subject to static electricity, which could cause premature or eventual failure of the fingerprint sensor," said Mariel van Tatenhove, VP of Marketing at Validity. "With Validity's fingerprint sensors, consumers do not have to worry about the resilience of the fingerprint sensors in a real-world environment."
Validity's fingerprint sensors are based on its LiveFlex Technology, which it said provides durability impact resistance. Validity's fingerprint solutions are already shipping in numerous notebook PCs and PC peripheral devices offered by companies such as HP, Acer, and General Dynamics.
