Hitachi Data Systems: Hitachi 'Backup in a Box' Brings Enterprise Data Storage and Management to Companies of all Sizes
HIT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT) and the only provider of Services Oriented Storage Solutions, unveils its centralised storage and data management system, Hitachi Backup in a Box. For the first time, Hitachi's extensive storage experience and unparalleled innovation combine with the industry leading solutions of Commvault and Zycko to offer small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) enterprise class storage and data protection features in cost effective bundles.
"Ever increasing data growth is demanding multiple servers and highly complex backup operations that can be a strain on a company's finances. Though a challenge for all organisations, they are particularly acute for SMBs, where budget and resource may be less readily available," said Philippe Fosse, vice president, channels, EMEA at Hitachi Data Systems. "Hitachi Backup in a Box delivers big business solutions to the SMB sector at a fraction of the cost and with all the convenience of a single product."
Hitachi Backup in a Box is offered in 6TB, 9TB and two 12TB options, ensuring that it can adapt and grow to an organisation's needs. It enables backup of up to 10 or 20 servers (depending on the bundle) and includes primary applications such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL and SharePoint. Flexible options allow data to be written to disk and tape, minimising backup windows and providing offsite copies in the event of a disaster. The software bundle includes professional services for basic installation, configuration and knowledge transfer to ensure seamless start-up with minimum disruption.
"Zycko understands that our customers are seeking answers to business challenges, not simply products," said David Galton-Fenzi, group sales director at Zycko. "Merging benchmark hardware, software and distribution expertise in Hitachi Backup in a Box is just the answer SMBs have been looking for."
Hitachi Backup in a Box combines leading storage technologies, software and distribution solutions:
