Jan 12, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- ISO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ISCO International, Inc., a provider of spectrum conditioning wireless infrastructure products and solutions for wireless carriers and telecommunications service providers, announced its participation in the NTCA Wireless Symposium here.

The National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) is the premiere non-profit association representing more than 580 small and rural telephone cooperatives and commercial companies. NTCA's Wireless Symposium is the key wireless conference designed specifically for that independent operator carrier.

ISCO's two-pronged involvement in the conference includes an exhibit and participation in a panel, "Got Spectrum?" on Thursday, January 8.

"Interference is the 'silent killer' of network performance on a wireless network," said Ted Myers, panelist and ISCO vice president of technology, "and spectrum conditioning tempers and in some cases eliminates that interference. The application of spectrum conditioning benefits the wireless subscriber by allowing those customers to be more confident that their calls will be completed, that their range of coverage is as expected, and that their data throughput rates will be sufficient. For carriers, net results are better coverage, reduced dropped calls and ultimately improved customer satisfaction and increased consumer loyalty. This also translates to less churn and more minutes of use, which equals more revenue."

Myers points to the many sources of radio frequency energy - all contributory to interference -- that can compete for space on a wireless network, including land mobile radios, radar and security systems, paging systems and other cellular networks. "Border interference" - or the co-channel overlapping of one wireless network with another (e.g., GSM and UMTS) can also intrude on a carrier's network. "ISCO's multi-carrier solutions provide the flexibility and control that wireless carriers are looking for as they search for and manage these sources of interference," said Myers.

Spectrum conditioning, as provided by ISCO's Adaptive Interference Mitigation dANF solution, automatically identifies unwanted interference and eliminates it. Using ISCO's dANF, or digital Adaptive Notch Filter, telecommunications network operators can provide more flexibility as they operate and integrate wireless networks, plan new expansion, or implement LTE. ISCO's dANF is a self-contained product that integrates a high-speed DSP core in a powerful Linux-based architecture running ISCO's proprietary algorithms. The ISCO solution includes the dANF along with the IAT diagnostics software tool, supporting installation components and professional services.

ISCO International is a wireless telecommunications solutions provider -- and global supplier of "spectrum conditioning" solutions for wireless carriers.
