MITSUI'S CAR-SHARING SERVICE TO INTRODUCE ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Co. (TSE:8031) subsidiary, said Tuesday that it will begin
service this week and introduce electric vehicles this
spring.
Under the service, members will share the use of vehicles.
The service, called careco, will be launched on Thursday
with nine bases in and around Tokyo's Shibuya. The fleet will
initially consist of the Prius hybrid, the iQ ultracompact, and
the Vitz subcompact -- all from Toyota Motor Corp. (TSE:7203)
-- as well as Honda Motor Co.'s (7267) Fit subcompact. The
lineup will expand gradually, with plans to include Fuji Heavy
Industries Ltd. 's (7270) Plug-In Stella vehicle in the
spring.
Through a server, members will be able to reserve cars and
unlock vehicles. Four levels of fees will be offered, based on
usage.
