Daniel's wine dinners
Daniel's Restaurant in Apex is hosting its first wine dinner of the year Thursday night featuring Caymus and Sterling wines.
The five-course meal includes salmon spring rolls, homemade herbed gnocchi with mushrooms and butternut squash, and empanadas filled with braised short ribs and blue cheese. The cost is $85 per person plus tax and tip.

High-end wine ticket
The Triangle Wine Experience is hosting a rather enticing wine dinner for foodies who can afford a $750 ticket.
The Feb. 5 event features not only Chef Joseph Lenn of the prestigious Blackberry Farm in Tennessee but the wines of Harlan Estate, a highly regarded American winemaker.
Space is limited to 28 people. The dinner will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Raleigh home of Eliza Kraft Olander and Brian McHenry. The price also includes tickets to the Triangle Wine Experience's Feb. 6 gala and wine auction.
