Tao Minerals Announces Security Concerns at El Colmillo Gold Mine

MEDELLIN, Colombia, Jan 27, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- TAOL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Tao Minerals, Ltd. (OTCBB: TAOL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) announces that due to security concerns at the El Colmillo Gold Mine, it has temporarily suspended further mining operations. Tao employees have been confronted by ELN guerilla forces at the mine site, who have been active in the region. Tao has reported these events to the Colombian authorities, and until such time as the security status of the region improves, operations will remain suspended. Tao is hopeful that operations will commence again shortly, given that security in Colombia has been steadily improving in recent years.
