The award was received by GPIC President and Chief Executive Officer Gerard Charlier during the gala ceremony held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on January 26.
A panel representing gaming-industry professionals, gaming journalists and gaming-industry analysts honored the company with the Best Technology Manufacturer award. According to the International Gaming Awards nomination categories for 2009: "The category is open to any technology company that with a specific product, has shown originality, the ability to succeed in a highly competitive market, offered services to clients that have helped increase profitability or have helped working environments become an easier and more productive place."
"This prestigious international award is a tribute to GPI's hard work to bring efficient and cost-effective RFID solutions to the table games industry," said Charlier. "Our TableTop Authenticator is a great device to fight counterfeiting and fraudulent activities by verifying incoming chips at the very first entry point in the casino: the tables."
Christophe Leparoux, International Sales and Marketing Manager, said, "Several operators in the US, Europe and recently South Africa have already opted for this innovative product in its 125 KHz or 13.56 MHz versions to secure their tables."
The receipt of the award kicked off GPI's participation at the International Gaming Expo held January 27-29, at Earls Court in London.
