In a disclosure to the Bombay Stock Exchange, CESC said that Hilltop Holdings India, a promoter group firm of the company, has pledged 19.49 lakh shares representing 1.56 per cent stake in the company.
Similarly, KEC Holdings (1.13 per cent), Chi Investments (0.72 per cent), Harrisons Malayalam Financial Services (0.96 per cent), Instant Holdings (0.60 per cent), Petroleum International (0.32 percent) and Off-shore India (0.25 per cent) have also pledged their shares, it added.
Shares of CESC today closed at Rs 229.50, almost flat from its previous close.
