Co-founded by CNPC, CLP Holdings Ltd. (SEHK: 0002), and Shenzhen Gas Corporation Co., Ltd., the station will receive the LNG transported through the West-East Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline and then serve the LNG consumers in Gunagdong Province and Hong Kong.
Upon the framework agreement, CNPC, CLP Holdings, and Shenzhen Gas Corporation separately hold 51%, 24.5%, and 24.5% of the new LNG receiving station. In particular, Shenzhen will become China's first city owning two LNG receiving stations.
Recently, the east section of the second pipeline of the West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Project lately broke ground in the southern Chinese town of Guanlan, Shenzhen, with a total investment of about CNY 93 billion. The east section, which is 2,472 kilometers long, starts from the southwestern Chinese province of Gansu to Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
