New Frontier recorded it lost $8.9 million, or 42 cents per share, on revenue of $12.6 million during its fiscal 2009 third quarter, which ended Dec. 31, 2008. During the comparable quarter a year earlier, New Frontier had a net loss of $3.1 million, or 13 cents per share, and revenue of $17.9 million. New Frontier officials said the company's film production segment was negatively impacted by the weakened economy and the company determined a goodwill valuation analysis was necessary. As a result, the company took an impairment charge of $10 million. Company officials said they remain optimistic about the film production side of the business, noting a couple of productions in the pipeline. Shares of New Frontier fell 5 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $1.65. To see more of the Daily Camera, or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.dailycamera.com.
