Wincanton said that it will design and implement a dedicated platform for cosmetic surgery, including facial and breast implants. Wincanton's challenge will be to prepare and deliver orders in the greater Paris region within a three-hour timeframe. To this end, Wincanton will create a platform specifically adapted to meet all the client's technical needs on its Cergy site, and will take on six new employees.
The site is located in close proximity to Allergan's offices in the La Defense business area on the outskirts of Paris, and with good access to the Charles de Gaulle Airport, transport hubs, clinics and hospitals based in the west of Paris.
In addition, the Cergy site has an excellent track record and years of experience in managing logistics for healthcare products, which will also help to facilitate a smooth, rapid start-up of operations on the new contract, according to Wincanton.
The relationship between Allergan and Wincanton goes back to 2000 on the Strasbourg site and, was an important factor in the tender bid process in which the client retained Wincanton's proposal. A specific transport organization will be implemented to deliver products to surgeons within the three-hour deadline.
