Redline Communications Group Inc. ("Redline") (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, today introduced the RedACCESS MAX + AN-80i(TM), the newest addition to its suite of Broadband Wireless Infrastructure (BWI) products. The RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i enables network operators to offer high-bandwidth, premium access services in the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz WiMAX frequency bands.
"The 3.5 GHz MAX+ AN-80i was designed specifically to enable carriers to deploy high capacity connections for backhaul or premium access applications," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Marketing, Redline Communications Inc. "The RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i complements Redline's suite of high performance RedMAX and RedMAX 4C WiMAX solutions, and offers carriers more options and flexibility to support services and applications that require high-bandwidth and long-distance connections within the WiMAX bands." Commercial availability of the RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i is expected in April, 2009.
Performance and Value
The RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i enables point-to-multipoint connections of up to 50 Mbps, in 10 MHz to 20 MHz channels. This increased throughput enables the delivery of premium services commanding higher revenues per customer and a more rapid return on investment for the operator. To support backhaul application, the MAX+ AN-80i can be easily installed at dense hub-sites within the network, which reduces the need for additional antennas and frequencies, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) for carriers. The MAX+ AN-80i, like each product in Redline's WIMAX portfolio, is easily managed via the Redline Management Suite software, enabling large scale deployments with a mix of various technologies.
"The increase in users with smart devices that enable high-bandwidth video services as well as voice and data, is stressing current mobile carrier backhaul architectures," added Suitor. "The RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i enables the deployment of an overlay backhaul architecture to offload 3G & 4G data traffic, whilst maintaining the PDH TDM network for voice backhaul."
"The demand for broadband is driving the need for carriers to maximize their spectrum utilization and increase their available bandwidth," added Suitor. "With the addition of the RedACCESS MAX+ AN-80i, Redline offers the most complete range of broadband wireless backhaul and access solutions for the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz bands."
Redline's Broadband Wireless Infrastructure (BWI) products
Redline offers a full suite of RedCONNEX point-to-point and RedACCESS point-to-multipoint BWI solutions. The company's BWI products, which incorporate Redline's proven OFDM technology, have been deployed by carriers and other enterprises worldwide to support a range of applications including mobile backhaul, video surveillance, storage and business continuity, premium Internet access, and other voice, video and data services. The BWI products operate in the 4.9 GHz, 5.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz bands and 3.3 - 3.8 GHz WiMAX bands and deliver high-speed Ethernet throughput of up to 90Mbps and flexible software defined configurations.
Redline's RedMAX(TM) Family
Redline's RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions includes the world's first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability. Redline's carrier-class RedMAX AN-100 and AN-100UX Base Stations support more than 500 users per sector, offering voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, over long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband connections. The RedMAX family also includes the Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I) and Outdoor Subscriber Unit (SU-O), enabling both enterprise and residential deployments. The RedMAX Management Suite enables operators to monitor and control the network, ensuring high service availability.
RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX Platform
The RedMAX 4C is the latest addition to Redline's family of WiMAX products. Operating in the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum bands, and supporting a high concentration of subscribers, it enables operators to realize a rapid return on their WiMAX investment. The RedMAX 4C includes a modular, standardized (micro)TCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small, lightweight and easy to deploy.
