Redline Communications Group Inc. ("Redline") (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, today announced that it has received USDA acceptance and Buy American status from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utility Services (RUS) for the latest additions to its RedMAX(TM), RedCONNEX(TM), and RedACCESS(TM) families of products.
With this acceptance, Redline's complete roster of fixed and nomadic RedMAX WiMAX products and broadband wireless infrastructure (BWI) products, including the new MAX+ AN-80i, 4.9 GHz RedCONNEX and RedACCESS AN-80i and the recently launched RedMAX AN-100UX high-powered base station, are now accepted under the program.
The USDA acceptance and Buy American status of the Redline products will enable network operators in the United States to take advantage of a federal rural broadband funding program when deploying Redline's broadband wireless products in support of rural residential, business and community wireless services.
<< Redline's roster of products that have now received USDA acceptance and Buy American status from the RUS includes: Redline's Broadband Wireless Infrastructure products: ----------------------------------------------------- 3.65 GHz MAX+ AN-80i: Enables both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connections of up to 50 Mbps, in 10 to 20 MHz channels. The high throughput enables the delivery of premium services, commanding higher revenues per customer and a more rapid return on investment for the operator. The MAX+ AN-80i has received FCC approval for deployment in the 3.65 GHz bands in the United States. RedCONNEX AN-80i: Provides long-range point-to-point connections in the 4.9 GHz public safety band, and license-exempt 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz bands, and support for low-latency voice, video and data communications. RedACCESS AN-80i: Enables robust point-to-multipoint connections in the 4.9 GHz public safety band, and license-exempt 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz bands, and is ideal for application such as video surveillance and transportation systems. Redline's WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) products: --------------------------------------------- RedMAX AN-100U and AN-100UX: Redline's high-capacity RedMAX base stations have been deployed by more than 160 carriers around the world. The AN-100U and AN-100UX are available for deployment in the 3.65 GHz bands, providing a true WiMAX option for rural broadband deployments. Both the AN-100U and AN-100UX have received FCC approval for deployment in the 3.65 GHz bands in the United States. RedMAX SU-O and SU-I: Redline's selection of indoor and outdoor WiMAX subscriber units enable service providers to cost- effectively deliver WiMAX services to both residential and business users within a single network. Both the SU-O and SU-I have received FCC approval for deployment in the 3.65 GHz bands in the United States. Redline Management Suite ------------------------ RMS: Redline's award-winning element management solution provides network operators the ability to easily deploy, control, monitor and upgrade each Redline WiMAX and BWI component in their network and acts as a gateway between the Redline equipment in the network and the billing and operating systems. RMS provides an operator a single service creation and enablement point within the network for advanced broadband wireless services. >>
"We are pleased to offer service providers across the United States more choice and flexibility in deploying network technologies that meet the current definitions for advanced and basic broadband services under the Economic Stimulus package. Redline's solutions will enable network operators to deliver much-needed broadband services and enhance their communications infrastructure," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President of Marketing, Redline Communications Inc.
Redline's products underwent the USDA's rigorous process and are now included on the USDA's designated List of Materials Acceptable for Use in Telecommunications Systems for access by communication providers participating in the RUS funding program. The RUS telecommunications program is designed to assist US communication operators in developing, planning and financing the construction of broadband communications by providing financial grants to enable operators to deploy broadband infrastructure services in rural, economically-challenged communities where services currently do not exist.
