The train is the first one that jointly developed by the group and its homegrown partners, including universities, scientific and technical institutes, and other special research institutes. It is an achievement of the group's strategy to team up universities, manufacturers, research and development institutes, and final customers to develop and produce products.
As of A, B, C-types of rail vehicles, the A-type is the biggest one and has the highest carrying capacity, very fitting the requirement of metropolis such as Shanghai. Almost all A-type metro trains that run in China are imported entirely or made with imported technologies.
The train made by Shanghai Electric Group is a train independently developed by the Chinese. It is estimated to bring a far-reach influence on the Chinese metro train market.
