Dannon names new president and CEO

Mar 06, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- DA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Dannon Company, a subsidiary of Groupe Danone, has named Gustavo Valle as its new president and CEO, effective April 1, 2009.

Mr Valle will be replacing Juan Dalto. Mr Valle is currently the CEO of Danone Brazil. As president and CEO of Dannon, Mr Valle will report to Dirk Van de Put, executive vice president of Danone Americas region.

After nearly five years of service as president and CEO of The Dannon Company and vice president of dairy for North American region, Mr Dalto has decided to pursue a career in international strategic consulting, based back in his home country of Argentina.

Mr de Put said: "I thank Juan for his passion, leadership and professionalism during his 12 year career at Danone, in Argentina, Portugal and Italy, including almost five years leading The Dannon Company and our North American dairy business. We wish the best for Juan and his family on his new professional adventures and in their return to their home country of Argentina."
