For an annual fee of $20 per person or $35 per family, Generic Prescription Drug Program members with a Tops Bonus Card will be able to purchase 30-day supplies of more than 350 generic prescription medications for $3.99. Program members will also receive discounts on more than 2,000 other generic and premium drugs.
The announcement comes on the heels of a newly expanded program at Wegmans pharmacies, offering select generic drugs at $4 for a 30-day supply and $10 for a 90-day supply. Wal-Mart was the first to offer $4 generic drugs, with Target pharmacies following soon after. Neither Wegmans, Wal-Mart nor Target require an annual fee.
