According to company officials, Aktenmuehle will transition to Cintas Document Management Germany GmbH in the coming months.
"This acquisition brings to Cintas an outstanding management team and more than doubles our document management business in Europe," said Scott Farmer, CEO of Cintas Corp. "We are pleased to be in a position to take advantage of attractive opportunities to grow our business internationally," he added.
Aktenmuehle was founded in 1994 by Marc Metzlaff. Metzlaff will continue to oversee operations of Cintas Document Management Germany, serving as Managing Director - Document Destruction Germany.
This marks Cintas' second acquisition in Europe. In 2007, Cintas acquired Certo Information Management, now known as Cintas Document Management Netherlands BV. Together, Cintas Document Management Germany and Cintas Document Management Netherlands will provide confidential, mobile document shredding and records storage solutions to businesses throughout Germany and the Netherlands.
Cintas designs, manufactures and implements corporate identity uniform programs, and provides entrance mats, restroom supplies, promotional products, first aid and safety products, fire protection services and document management services.
