HALIFAX, Mar 25, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- VRI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- VR Interactive Corporation (VRI: TSXV) announced today that, on Friday, March 20, 2009, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta granted an order extending the time by which the Corporation must hold its next annual meeting of shareholders until August 31, 2009.

VR Interactive made application for the order in light of the timing of the last annual meeting of the shareholders of the Corporation, which was held on May 31, 2006. As a result, the Corporation was not in compliance with the rules of the TSX Venture Exchange respecting the timing of its next shareholders meeting. Since the May 2006 shareholders meeting, the Corporation has continued to file its annual and interim financial statements with securities regulatory authorities, including the unaudited interim financial statements of the Corporation as at and for the three and nine month periods ended December 31, 2008. The Corporation's next year-end is March 31, 2009 and the Corporation expects to place audited financial statements for fiscal 2009 before shareholders at the upcoming annual meeting. The filing deadline for the annual financial statements and related management's discussion and analysis is July 29, 2009.

This news release has been disseminated to update shareholders and other interested persons as to the anticipated timing of the next annual meeting of shareholders and at the request of the TSX Venture Exchange.
