Verizon expands wireless coverage in Riverside county, California
VOD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Verizon Wireless, a provider of a wireless voice and data network and a
joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and Vodafone
(NYSE:VOD) (LSE: VOD), announced on Saturday (28 March) that it has
activated two new wireless cell sites in Riverside county, California,
US.
These new sites reportedly expand 3G wireless coverage in Corona, along
south Main Street to the hilly residential area of Corona and also in
Desert Centre / Blythe, a large span of Highway 95 between Big Maria
and Vidal.
Verizon said that the company has invested over USD600m in California
during 2008 to enhance service and coverage. This enhancement includes
the company's Mobile Broadband service, which allows users to connect
to the Internet wirelessly.
