Johnson's appointment brings the number of independent directors to seven, and increases the number of board members to ten.

Johnson served as the Chief Legal Officer of The Procter & Gamble Company from May 1991 until his retirement in June 2008. During that time, he reported to four successive Chief Executive Officers and was the principal legal and corporate governance advisor to the P&G Board of Directors. As P&G's Chief Legal Officer, Johnson managed approximately 285 lawyers globally and served as the Co-Chair of P&G's Ethics and Compliance Committee. Johnson joined the P&G Legal Department in 1973, and served as Associate General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel prior to becoming P&G's Chief Legal Officer in 1991.
Johnson is a past President of the National Association of General Counsel, a Founding Trustee of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, OH, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Medical Center Fund of Cincinnati. Johnson also serves on the Steering Committee of the U.S. Civil Justice Reform Group and the Corporate Advisory Committee of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.
Cintas designs, manufactures and implements corporate identity uniform programs, and provides entrance mats, restroom supplies, promotional products, first aid and safety products, fire protection services and document management services.
