The bank today reported a EUR2.06bn after-tax loss in 2008, compared to a profit of EUR326m in 2008.
The fall of Iceland's three major banks Kaupthing, Landsbanki Islands and Glitnir in October last year has impacted various financial institutions, including LBBW's state-controlled German rival BayernLB.
Earlier in March, Icelandic investment bank Straumur and savings bank SPRON were taken over by Iceland's Financial Supervisory Authority (FME).
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.074 euros (EUR).
