OLCLF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- A record 27.22 million people
visited Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in fiscal 2008, up
7.1 per cent on the year, theme park operator ORIENTAL LAND CO.
(TSE:4661) reported Wednesday. The combined turnout was boosted
by large-scale parades and other events commemorating the 25th
anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland's opening in 1983 as well as
promotions in 29 cities nationwide.
* The weather was favorable, too, with fewer typhoons. In
addition, vacationers preferred affordable, short stays in
nearby spots.
* Fuel surcharges for planes spiked in the first half of
fiscal 2008, depressing demand for overseas leisure trips.
