As executive vice president and chief administrative officer of San Diego National Bank, Ms Brassfield helped grow the bank from 11 branches and $900 million in assets to 21 branches and $2.4 billion in assets, said Silvergate. Her previous positions also include serving as CFO of Fallbrook National Bank (now Pacific Western Bank), where she supervised all accounting and financial operations.
Alan Lane, president and CEO of Silvergate Bank, said: "Karen is a skilled banking professional with long-term involvement in the greater San Diego market. She adds valuable depth to our executive management team at an important stage in our development."
