Under an agreement it has signed to be ChemRoutes' general sales agent in Japan, trading house Toyota Tsusho will sell ChemRoutes compounds to Japanese pharmaceutical manufacturers.
The Canadian firm synthesizes compounds that can be used as raw materials in pharmaceuticals and also does research under contract.
It has research laboratories at its headquarters and in Qingdao, China, and is looking to secure sales routes for its products in Japan.
Toyota Tsusho gets several billion yen in revenue from drug-related fields and is looking to strengthen sales in these areas as one aspect of expanding nonautomotive business.
