The 22-year-old star got the new tattoo on her inner-wrist during her visit to the Shamrock Social Club in West Hollywood last week, in an attempt to move on from the messy break-up with DJ Samantha Ronson recently.
Monroe's full quote reads: "Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle." and it is surrounded by yellow, blue and green stars, Sun online reported.
It is not for the first time that Lohan has taken inspiration from the Hollywood legend.
Last year, she had recreated Monroe's famous nude 1962 photo shoot for New York magazine, telling the publication at the time that Monroe's life could serve as a cautionary tale as it was a "prime example of what this industry can do to someone." Lohan is known for her trouble Hollywood lifestyle and after her split with Ronson close friends have expressed concerned over her health.
"She feels alone. All of their mutual friends have turned on her; she's 22 but this would be tough to handle at any age," a source close to the star said.
