Strategic Public Relations is written for a broad audience from CEOs to PR practitioners and outlines how to maximize the impact of PR. The book includes industry insight and best practices from Gehrt and Moffitt; marketing data; perceptions from corporate leaders; contributions from other authors such as Bruce Patton of the Harvard Negotiation Project and co-author of the best-selling book Getting to Yes; and commentary from industry experts including Mark Weiner of PRIME Research.
Strategic Publications Relations also contains insight from business leaders at such companies as Alaska Airlines, Clearwire, Deloitte Services, Edelman, Nike, Seattle Children's Hospital, Starbucks, and many other brand-name organizations that are using PR to accomplish their most important goals.
Says Amy Bohutinsky, vice president of communications for Zillow.com, "This is the kind of book that you refer to again and again. Instead of just theories or concepts, it offers clear and concise best practices, and then drills down to the tactical explanation of how to get them done. I'm going to require that my entire team read this book."
"There are many books which focus on PR tactics," says Moffitt. "These books describe how to write a press release or how to conduct an interview. We felt there was a need for a book that takes a deeper look at how a company can up-level its public relations strategy."
Gehrt adds, "In a tough economy, it's even more important for PR professionals to show return on PR investment and demonstrate how campaigns can positively impact business. This book aims to help PR professionals who have mastered the basics get to the next stage in their career. At the same time, it provides executable insight for executives who want to understand how to best use PR to achieve business success."
