Harvey E. Johnson, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alliance Bankshares and Alliance Bank for the past four years recently passed away. "Harvey was an excellent Chairman and leader of Alliance. His guidance over the years was second to none. We are all very sorry about his unexpected passing," said Bill Drohan.
Drohan brings great experience to the role of Chairman of the Board. He has served as a founding director of Alliance and Chairman of the Budget and ALCO committee and a member of several other board committees. Bill is the President and CEO of Drohan Management Group, a company in the association management arena. Drohan formerly served as Executive Director of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors. He also serves on the board of directors of the Consultants Section of American Society of Association Executives and is a member of the Board of Advisors to the George Washington University School of Business.
"Our core franchise is made up of solid business professionals and having the depth of knowledge of the bank, community, industry and economy allows for a seamless transition," said Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors George S. Webb. "Like all directors, officers and staff people at Alliance, I am very sad about losing a great man, Harvey Johnson. His leadership and guidance were a very valuable resource to me," said Thomas A. Young, Jr., President and CEO. "The management team and I look forward to working closely with Bill now and in the future," added Young.
