The financial highlights include turnover up 40% to GBP16.1m, compared to GBP11.5m in the same period of 2008; EBITDA was up 95% to GBP2.3m, as against GBP1.2m in the similar six months of 2008; Operating profit increased 102% to GBP1.6m, from GBP0.8m in the corresponding previous year six months; PBT (pre exceptional items) went up 107% to GBP1.7m, from GBP0.8m in the prior year period; EPS was up 99% to GBP0.512, compared to the EPS of GBP0.257 in the first six months of 2008; and this six month period generated cash of GBP2.5m. Operational highlights consist of an increase in US sales of 60%, mainly driven by OEM; systems division sales were up by 66% and first systems sales took place in China; mid-range products iVac and Clara were successfully launched; a new design contract worth USD2.1m was awarded for delivery by 2010; the second half of financial year saw a record order book entering; and the company was positioned to gain benefit from its stimulus plans.
