Miza.com was conceived as a companion website for the children's book Looking For Miza: The True Story of the Mountain Gorilla Family Who Rescued One of Their Own, published by Turtle Pond Publications in conjunction with Scholastic Corporation.
The interactive children's website is full of games, activities and media that informs children about the endangered Mountain Gorillas in Africa, what people are doing to preserve their natural habitat and how they can get involved to make a difference.
Matthew Kicinski, President of Artgig, commented on the award saying, "It's great to be recognized with the prestigious honor of a Webby. And we're very pleased to share the credit with ESI, who brought the big vision along with a highly developed style to the project, and let us do our thing with the functionality and games."
Frank Migliorelli, Director of Media & Technology at ESI Design, also commented, "Miza is a fantastic site for kids that combines great games and activities with a strong message about protecting Gorillas and their habitats. Our design came to life in collaboration with Artgig and we are honored to share this award with them and our client, Turtle Pond Productions."
