Action Products Int'l, Inc. Subsidiary Action Toys Inc. Appoints a Distributor in Canada

ORLANDO, FL, Apr 24, 2009 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- APII | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Action Toys Inc. (a subsidiary of Action Products Int'l, Inc. (NASDAQ: APII | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) (APII)) announced today that ongoing efforts to add international distribution have borne new fruit. The company has now added a distributor for Canada to its list. Unicorn Toys of Missassauga, Ontario has been appointed as the official wholesale agent for Action Toys Inc. products in Canada. Unicorn was established in 2004 as the primary distributor of puzzle games and toys. The company employs a sales force of twelve sales representatives across Canada who present the line and sell to approximately 500 independent toy and gift stores throughout Canada. Unicorn also participates in many Canadian toy and gift shows to present product to the existing customer base as well as new prospective clients. The opening sale to Unicorn occurred this week, and Bob Muniz, President of Action Toys Inc., commented: "Further expansion of our international sales efforts is an important part of our task of rebuilding overall sales and profitability. In Unicorn Toys we have found an enthusiastic and determined partner for the distribution of our toys throughout Canada. Unicorn has begun to notify retailers of the availability of our items through them and has instructed its reps to begin writing sales orders. We expect this to be a significant channel of sales revenue for us throughout the remainder of this year and beyond."

Unicorn Toys provides a variety of children's products to toy and juvenile product stores throughout Canada. "They employ their own team of 12 sales reps and are positioned to give us fast and complete distribution throughout the entire country. We expect them to provide excellent shipping and customer service to all retailers in their territory at fair prices. We have provided them with current customer data and will work with them in their effort to find new retail outlets for our products," said Muniz.

Although the initial inventory is being shipped from the Action distribution center in Florida, future plans include direct shipments to Canada from Action's factories overseas. Unicorn Toys will distribute a full complement of Action Toys' products to retail outlets throughout Canada. Muniz added: "This represents the second international distribution announcement in as many weeks for us. We expect to have more in the near future as we continue to have ongoing talks with firms in other countries. We are in discussions for Asia, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia and South America. Those negotiations and talks continue."
