ALDN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Aladdin Knowledge Systems, a provider of information security solutions now affiliated under common management with SafeNet, announced plans to release Aladdin eToken Virtual and Aladdin MobilePASS, a software-based authentication, enabling access and identity verification without the need for a hardware-based authenticator.

Aladdin said its software authentication solutions will be available in both encrypted virtual smartcard platforms for PCs and portable flash drives, and one-time-password (OTP) platforms for PCs, flash and mobile devices. Like Aladdin's portfolio of hardware-based OTP and smartcard authentication solutions, Aladdin's software authentication solutions are managed using Aladdin's Token Management System (TMS), allowing organizations to complement hardware authentication deployments and tailor solutions to various use cases and risk levels.

Both offerings, the eToken Virtual and MobilePASS, are managed and maintained using the Aladdin TMS. TMS offers centralized control of all authentication devices and seamlessly integrates into Microsoft Active Directory and other repositories such as SQL or LDAP. It provides lifecycle management of authentication solutions including deployment, authenticator provisioning and ongoing maintenance, as well as support for users who lose their authenticators.
