The contractual time limit is said to be six years, when AirMedia is to publish ads on the gas stations' digital screens, light boxes and banners. AirMedia CEO Herman Guo pointed out that the Sinopec gas stations could meet agency needs, depending on their wide and thick layout.
Refueling cars and customers stop at gas stations and are likely to see them for a while, so, such ads can attract more attention, said an expert with Communication University of China. Besides, car owners usually have strong consumption power, and many of them are senior corporate executives, who may order their companies to buy advertised products, he added.
On the other hand, the Sinopec-AirMedia cooperation is estimated to upgrade the media model of the gas stations, according to Sinopec's vice president Zhang Haichao.
