Carr is joining transport company FirstGroup plc as finance director.
The date of Carr's departure has not yet been confirmed, although easyJet stated that a search for his replacement will commence immediately.
Separately, Warwick Brady will join easyJet as procurement director from 6 May 2009. In this position he will be a member of the Airline Management Board and will be reporting to Andy Harrison, easyJet's chief executive. Brady has worked at various low-cost airlines, including Ryanair, Air Deccan and Mandala.
