The gunman took an undisclosed amount of cash around 10:50 a.m. from Check Into Cash at the 800 block of Mississippi 11 South.
Deputy Police Chief David Ervin said the man entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money.
Employees complied and the man left seconds before police arrived, Ervin said.
Police described the suspect as white and in his late 20s to 30s.
The suspect's height was estimated between 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-10.
He was wearing a dark baseball cap with "WWL4" on front, a dark blue polo-style, pullover shirt with collar and dark jeans and black shoes.
