Revenues from railway businesses rose to CNY 10.822 billion in all from CNY 9.820 billion in 2007. Revenue from passenger transport jumped to CNY 6.759 billion from CNY 5.834 billion in 2007. Revenue from freight transport inched down to CNY 1.325 billion from CNY 1.326 billion in 2007. Revenue from railway network usage and service increased to CNY 2.738 billion from CNY 2.660 billion. And revenue from other businesses leaped to CNY 866 million from CNY 689 million in 2007.
Overall operating expenses swelled to CNY 9.991 billion from CNY 8.793 billion in 2007. Profit attributable to the equity holders of the company slid to CNY 1.224 billion from CNY 1.431 billion in 2007. Earnings per share slipped CNY 0.17 from CNY 0.20 in 2007.
The company is mainly engaged in passenger and freight transportation businesses on the Shenzhen-Guangzhou-Pingshi Railway and certain long-distance passenger transportation services.
