It's not an established biotech cluster like Boston, San Francisco, San Diego or Cambridge, Mass., but Madison has a specialized job concentration in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, research and other biotech areas, the publication said. Its biotech aspirations are bolstered by the strong life sciences program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, it said.
Genome Technology, another trade publication, last summer called Wisconsin, led by Madison, an established biotech center.
