The new division will take charge of the purchasing of auto parts in China, research and development (R&D) and testing of infotainment systems and improve the lines of communication between German and Chinese shareholders.
The company will be headed by Dietmar Voggenreiter, who has been in charge of Audi's operations in China since 2007.
Audi (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. will work in close partnership with the FAW-VW Audi Sales Division in Changchun city of Northeast China's Jilin province. The new company will not affect FAW-VW Audi Sales Division's responsibilities of selling and marketing Audi cars in China, auto dealer management and after-sales services.
Audi entered the Chinese market in 1988 and sold 118,000 vehicles there last year. It has seven series of vehicles sold in the country at present.
