BOULDER, Colo., May 07, 2009 (Daily Camera - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
IBM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- A long-time executive of Japan's Ricoh Co. on Wednesday was appointed as chief executive officer and president of the Boulder-based InfoPrint Solutions Co.

Daisuke Segawa will take the helm of InfoPrint, which was formed two years ago as a joint venture between IBM Corp. and Ricoh, and fill the position held by Tony Romero. When the joint venture was created from IBM spinning off its Printing Systems Division, officials said they expected InfoPrint to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh in 2010.

The appointment was part of a long-term plan to transfer control to a Ricoh executive, officials said in a statement. The executive change will not impact InfoPrint's strategy and its Boulder headquarters, said Peter Lazaroff, an InfoPrint spokesman.

InfoPrint officials also said that Jeff Paterra, senior vice president and general manager for InfoPrint's Technology & Solutions Development, was named to the board of managers.
