Under the electronic payment system as soon as the bills are received by the Regional Pay and Accounts Officers from the Regional Officer after due processing of the bills, an advice is given to the accredited bankers to department to transmit the funds to the account of the contractor/agency.
This transaction will ensure transfer of the funds to the payee within a maximum time of 24 hours. This would reduce the time taken in the existing system by 50 per cent overcoming the delays involved in the preparation of the Demand Draft and problems relating to missing of cheques in the postal delays.
Vijay Chhibber, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road, transport and Highway in his inaugural address said that the National Highways and other Roads are the backbone for economic development of the country and has taken several initiatives in th e recent past to construct Highways and other Roads of international standard.
