Farmers Insurance Promotes Simon Noonan to Chief Operating Officer of Farmers Business Insurance

LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FGRP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Simon Noonan, senior vice president and president of Bristol West Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Farmers Group, Inc., has been promoted to chief operating officer of Farmers Business Insurance.

Mr. Noonan joined Bristol West Holdings, Inc. in 2002 as Senior Vice President - Actuarial Product, and was promoted to Executive Vice President in May 2005. He became COO in July 2006 and President & CEO in February 2008, and in addition, served as an SVP of Farmers Group, Inc.

Prior to joining Bristol West, Mr. Noonan provided actuarial and merger & acquisition services, with a focus mainly on non-life insurance companies for Metis Financial LLC, a consulting firm.

Mr. Noonan joined KPMG LLP as a consulting actuary in 1991. He served as a Senior Manager and Director in KPMG's New York and Atlanta offices, providing a variety of consulting services to non-life insurance companies through 1997.

A native of England, Mr. Noonan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Oxford University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mr. Noonan will relocate to Southern California with his wife Catherine Lidy and their two children, Henry and George.
