Meanwhile, the company expressed its determination to further bolster its market presence in China and worldwide. It was also in the mood to proceed with its educational programs and research plans in China.
Lorna Davis, chairman and president at Kraft Foods China, says in an interview that it is the first such research center of the company in Asia with biscuit testing lines, adding that it will help the company bring the supply in line with the local demand and even put more products on the international market.
China now is the fourth largest revenue generator of Kraft Foods. And that is why it chooses Suzhou to set up the research center. Kraft Foods recorded USD 660 million in net profits in the first quarter of the year, up 10% on a year-on-year basis.
