According to the company, Yahoo! oneSearch with voice allows consumers to get quick, relevant answers by speaking their query. While most mobile voice recognition systems are specific to vertical categories such as local listings, voice-enabled Yahoo! oneSearch allows consumers perform 'wide open' searches, returning relevant results for most types of query.
The application is currently available on over 80 different devices and across platforms including Blackberry, Nokia, Windows Mobile and iPhone, with support in eight languages.
The Yahoo! Mobile iPhone app can be downloaded through the iPhone app store. Users with devices on other platforms can download the app by visiting http://m.yahoo.com/voice through their mobile browser.
In a separate announcement, the company has announced a Yahoo! oneSearch shortcut for Windows Mobile in 21 countries, providing mobile users with one-click access to the search box.
No financial details were disclosed.
