Montrose, California, May 28, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- CLBXF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- It can be especially hard in this economy for single parents trying to provide a vacation for their families, but as the softness in travel is forcing our suppliers to slash prices and offer deals that we haven't seen in the past 20 years, Montrose Travel (http://www.montrosetravel.com/index.php?msiteid=), one of the TOP 50 Travel Agencies in the United States, is here to pass along these amazing deals, and provide the "how-to" for the single parent (or grandparent) traveler.

"I have sold travel to single parents, and the success of those vacations I must attribute to Club Med (http://www.montrosetravel.com/clubmed.html). An all-inclusive is the best option for a single parent with kids because it will cater to everyone involved. All-inclusive vacations include resorts as well as cruises...basically any type of travel that bundles accommodations, food and activities in one price," says Maria Saenz, Travel Professional at Montrose Travel. "The key to the all-inclusive vacation is that a parent can have a vacation with the whole family, or spend time one-on-one with a child while the other children are being entertained."

As an example, Club Med has all-inclusive resorts that feature mini-clubs for kids as young as 6 months old, as well as, adult areas. For the teens, who want to be on their own, Club Med offers a dedicated teen area - no adults allowed! Options for activities are extensive, such as kayaking, windsurfing, and rollerblading. Club Med really gets into the brain of a kid and provides age-appropriate activities that they can enjoy and learn from. Club Med is currently offering a 7-night Kids Stay free promotion available at select Club Med resorts. Book by 6/30/09 for travel by 12/19/09. Restrictions may apply.

Another great family vacation is Beaches, a family-oriented resort in Jamaica, that has a video game area where teens can play all day while the adults do what they want, and then the whole family can regroup for dinner to chat. "It's like they are all on a separate vacation, yet they still come together and share it," says Saenz.

For those interested in a more deluxe or luxury family vacation, Saenz recommends Tauck Bridges or Abercrombie and Kent which focus on both domestic and international trips.

And of course, Disney Cruise Line (http://www.montrosetravel.com/disney_cruise_line.html) offers one of the best family experiences available. "They have areas on the ship where only kids are allowed and other areas where only adults are allowed. Parents and kids are given walkie-talkies to communicate. It is another place to carry on the Disney experience, feeling safe and happy and enjoying your children," adds Saenz.

Another Disney option is escorted tours by Disney Adventures (http://www.disneywebcontent.com/portal/site/csa-abd/?SiteID=4706). Anita Kayekjian, Travel Professional at Montrose Travel, cites that Disney Adventures caters to families with older kids for tours to North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

For a visit to classic Disneyland (http://www.disneywebcontent.com/portal/site/csa-dlr/?SiteID=4692), Disney is offering 2 extra hotel nights, plus 2 extra days of Theme Park admission free with the purchase of a 3-night or longer Walt Disney Travel Company Disneyland(R) Resort vacation package. Book by 8/11/09 for travel through 9/26/09. Restrictions may apply.

"Cruises, in general, are another favorite for any parent," says Pat Ford, Cruise Professional at Montrose Travel. "Many of my single parent clients favor cruises because the all-inclusive price means they doesn't have to worry about meals, entertainment and handling money in general. And, most of the major cruise lines offer special age specific kid programs."

For a simple family vacation for Southern Californians, Margie Lopez, Travel Professional at Montrose Travel, suggests San Diego. "Amtrak goes there and the kids just love taking the train ride. There is usually a car dedicated to children, with a play area and a staff person to supervise. There are hotels by the train station, and many of the local hotels (http://www.montrosetravel.com/hotels.html) have a shuttle to go to Sea World. Don't forget the San Diego Zoo for Day 2," says Lopez.

If you're planning on traveling with your kids, here are a few single parent tips: Make sure you know your kids' vacation dates for the year, because dates are necessary for an agent to research your trip. Plus, early bookings increase chances of availability at your top choice destinations. For instance, it is easier to book close-proximity staterooms such as adjoining or next-door staterooms for your kids on cruises. Carnival (http://www.montrosetravel.com/carnival-cruises.html) cruise line has staterooms that hold 5 people, which allows parents to stay in the same room with multiple children. Keep activities such as cards, music, books, and hand-held games handy to keep the kids occupied at any given time. There is an airport security line dedicated to families. It provides extra help to those who need it and allows parents to take the time they need to get through. Montrose Travel (http://www.montrosetravel.com/index.php?msiteid=) can help single parents plan their ideal vacation experience. Because of its volume, Montrose Travel has access to thousands of vacation and cruise deals and discounts not published.
